If I prefer to submit my software manually, where may I find a list of shareware sites which can accept PAD submission? On another note, is submission to these shareware sites are still useful? Seems most people these days would just use search engine to find software download, instead of going to a shareware site?
There's a list of PAD sites on the web site of the Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP). Visit http://www.asp-shareware.org/ and click the "Download Sites" link on the horizontal nav-bar near the top of the page. While you're there, click the "ASP Blog" link next to the "Downloads Link" and check out ASP's new blog.
> If I prefer to submit my software manually, You might also want to google for "dominatrix", "masochism", "hurt me now", "watch me while I inflict insane amounts of pain on myself", and other niceties. ;) > where may I find a list of shareware sites which can accept PAD submission? As Al said, the ASP. You can also get a list from Mykola's Robosoft: http://rudenko.com/robosoft/ Or at Eric Peckham's Shareware Tracker site: http://www.accusolve.biz/stsites.html There are more lists out there. Just google for them. > On another note, is submission to these shareware sites are still useful? Seems most people these days would just use search engine to find software download, instead of going to a shareware site? It is still very useful. Very, VERY useful. For example, I had one listing that I got to the #10 position for a VERY competitive keyword in *1* round of promotion (submitting to download sites). It was beaten out by Microsoft, Apple and a few other big boys. It was holding solidly there for well over a year last I checked. However, submitting manually is VERY VERY VERY PAINFUL! Get a tool to do it (I'd recommend Robosoft), and submit to the top ones manually. You will thank me for it. (Well, unless you're a hard core masochist.) Robosoft will cost you $99, and it will pay for itself VERY quickly. Like nearly instantaneously. If you already have sales, expect to recover your costs in additional sales inside of a week, easy. | |
